The Stubai Glacier is only a 45-minute drive from Innsbruck.
From Innsbruck it takes approx. 20 minutes to get into the Stubai Valley on the A13 Brennerautobahn, exit Schönberg. From there you get to the Stubai Glacier along the Stubaitalstraße (B183) and from Ranalt along a private road.
In the Stubai Valley - between Schönberg and Innsbruck - all public buses are free for passengers with winter equipment, valid ski pass for the region, or Stubaier Guest Card during the ski season.

Departure from Innsbruck
For the journey between Innsbruck and Schönberg (and return), a bus ticket must be purchased. For passengers with winter sports equipment, this costs €8 for a round trip and must be purchased at the boarding point in Innsbruck. From Schönberg onwards, onward travel on the ski bus is free.
The Stubai Tirol Tourism Association provides holidaymakers staying in the Stubai Valley with a voucher for arrival and departure to/from Innsbruck for one-time free use of bus line 590 (Stubai-Bus) or the Stubai Valley Railway.

Electric car drivers watch out! 4 charging stations for electric cars are at the 3S-Eisgratbahn valley station. While you are enjoying skiing on the Stubai Glacier, your electric vehicle is being recharged down in the valley.
There are two charging stations directly opposite of the Intersport Comfort Centers II at the base station of the 3S Eisgratbahn. Altogether four vehicles can be charged at the same time. The stations offer the following sockets:

Fuel-free, relaxing and convenient journey. Travel to Innsbruck main station. You can then either use the hotel shuttle that picks you up right from the main station or use the public bus. Right in front of the train station starts bus line 590 towards the Stubai Glacier.

INNSBRUCK AIRPORT
The nearest airport to the Stubai Glacier is Innsbruck Airport. From there it is only a 43km ride to the Stubai Glacier.Having arrived at Innsbruck Airport we recommend taking a hotel shuttle offered by numerous accommodations. There are also taxis and bus stops in front of the airport.

The airports of Salzburg and Munich are also nearby. Both have very good bus and train connections to Innsbruck.
