This year again, some of the world’s best freeskiers and snowboarders were guests at the Stubai Zoo on the Gaiskarferner.
From 24 October to 20 November 2015 the Stubai Prime Park Sessions took place on the Stubai Glacier. The more than 80 freeskiers and snowboarders from 11 nations offered an impressive foretaste of what’s to be expected during this winter season!
The relaxing training atmosphere, the constant almost perfect weather and the progressive set-up of the Stubai Zoo, which received highest praise from the riders, made these four weeks an unforgettable time for all the athletes.
The crème-de-la-crème of the snowboarder scene arrived at the Stubai Glacier to present their technically demanding tricks combined with massive style at the Stubai Zoo. Especially the Scandinavian snowboarding elite around Marcus Kleveland, Aleksander Østreng, Ståle Sandbech and Silje Norendal. They enjoyed their time at the Stubai Zoo and pushed their limits on every single day. Jocke Hamar, the snowboard coach of the Swedes, reviewed more than just positively: “This was the best training camp I have seen in my entire life.” The Olympic champion Sage Kotsenburg too had only positive things to say about the top-class set-up and said that these were the best kickers he had ever ridden.
The freeski pros from all over the world were stoked too about the Stubai Prime Park Sessions and on every single day they showed what is possible shred-technically-wise if a perfect set-up is provided. Riders such as McRae Williams or Øystein Bråten were seen enjoying the kickers at the Stubai Zoo and presenting spectacular tricks at maximum technical difficulty. Freeski darling of the public Tom Wallisch found not only the set-up of the Stubai Prime Park Sessions fantastic, but also the Stubai Zoo as such: “What a fantastic rail-line!” The Scandinavian superstar Øystein Bråten too was obviously stoked about his time at the Stubai Prime Park Sessions. He summarised it briefly: “It is sick here.”
We are sure that you will be able to see one or the other new trick at the upcoming international contests.
