At the SAAC 2ND Step Camp the knowledge acquired at the SAAC Basic Camps is advanced. Now the main focus is on the alpine experience and topics such as terrain and snow and group-dynamic processes are explored in depth together with a mountain guide.
During a tour, you get worthwhile information on tour planning and behaviour in the different terrains. In the evenings these topics are discussed and the next tour is planned.
The cost of the SAAC 2ND Step Camp includes the participation fee and the rental emergency equipment. Accommodation and lift pass are not included. Since you won’t need a mountain and valley ride on all days, it’s advisable to get a ski mountaineers’ ticket. Holders of the Tirol SnowCard or the Freizeitticket can use it as usual.
Prior attendance of the SAAC Basic Camp is not required, but basic knowledge of avalanche awareness and ski mountaineering is a precondition.
More information is available on the SAAC website.
