From 19-23.04.2022 freeskiers from all over the world show their best tricks at the Stubai Glacier in the fight for the last European Cup points of the season.
A strong, international field of participants is expected with freeskiers from Asia, South America, Scandinavia and Central Europe. After the cancellation of the event in the past two winters due to the pandemic, the organizing team of the German Ski Association (DSV), the association Snowgau Oberammergau and the Stubai Glacier is already making the third attempt for this slopestyle contest.
The competition course will be ridden as part of the Slopestyle World Cup in November and thus promises an event at the highest level. Due to the "pro line course quality", the contest will be held as a premium European Cup. This means that double EC points will be awarded. For the participants, the competition has a particularly high value, because there is also an overall ranking to be won in the European Cup. The winner receives a personal starting right for the 2022/23 World Cup season.
Due to the high value of the event, the DSV will send its A-squad athletes as well as the athletes from the junior teams to the start. Among the DSV starters is also David Zehentner, who could already attract attention with a strong 4th place at the Big Air World Cup in Chur, Switzerland, a few weeks ago. Fans and spectators can follow the athletes' performance and the scoring on site or via live scoring on their smartphones.
