With highlights such as the ice grotto, the TOP OF TYROL summit platform, the Jochdohle – Austria’s highest-located mountain restaurant, the Eisgrat mountain station with dreamlike views, the mammoth playground and the glacier restaurants, the Stubai Glacier is also a rewarding destinations for Tyroleans.
On 9 August 2022 the ORF Radio Tirol invites again to its Summerfrische event on the Stubai Glacier. Be there and discover the eternal ice.

ICE GROTTO STUBAI GLACIER
12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Within the scope of the ORF Sommerfrische, the Stubai Glacier invites to join an extensive exploration tour of the ice grotto between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
A brief introduction on the topic of ice is given between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. every half hour at the entrance of the ice grotto.
Young visitors explore the glacier world during a guided tour from children in a playful way at 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Meeting points is at the ORF stage at the Eisgrat mountain station.
Participants of the ORF Sommerfrische enjoy free admission to the ice grotto on this day.
BIG FAMILY CHILDREN’S PROGRAMME AT THE EISGRAT
The BIG Family Stubai headed by Helli Reibel leads children through a colourful programme (make-up, visit of Rudi Rucksack on the Stubai Glacier) between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
TOP OF TYROL SUMMIT PLATFORM AT 3,210 METRES
From 1:00 p.m.
Back at the surface of the glacier, the glance inevitably leads towards the summit. The TOP OF TYROL summit platform at 3,210m of altitude protrudes the rocks by nine metres.
A visit is worthwhile. Not without reason, the GEO magazine elected the summit platform being one of the ten most beautiful in the world. The panoramic view covers 109 3,000m-peaks and gives a fascinating insight in the surrounding mountains from the Stubai Alps to the Dolomites.
