Ore 07.00 - la sveglia suona stridula. Ma oggi non importa, perché due bambini felici, in biancheria intima da sci colorata e calzini da sci ancora più colorati, stanno già saltellando per l'appartamento da dieci minuti. Già da qualche giorno è chiaro che questo giorno festivo andremo a sciare sul ghiacciaio dello Stubai. Quando i primi raggi di sole entrano dalla finestra, è ovvio che gli appassionati di sci, grandi e piccini, difficilmente riescono a stare fermi sulle loro sedie.
Dopo una veloce colazione e dopo aver preso l'attrezzatura da sci preparata già la sera prima (sci, scarponi, bastoncini, casco, maschera da sci, guanti, abbigliamento) si parte. Il ghiacciaio dello Stubai è raggiungibile in 45 minuti di macchina da Innsbruck. Il viaggio ci porta prima sull’autostrada e poi oltre gli idilliaci paesini della valle dello Stubai fino a quando a fondovalle si apre il pittoresco paesaggio invernale. Neve a perdita d'occhio. Gli occhi dei bambini cominciano a brillare:
“Mamma, guarda, c’è molta più neve dalla mia parte! Sarà sicuramente una bellissima giornata di sci oggi - anche la cabinovia saledalla mia parte - YAY!"
Oggi i bambini hanno deciso di salire con la moderna funivia 3S Eisgratbahn. Si tratta dell'impianto di risalita più moderno del comprensorio sciistico e trasporta gli ospiti in breve tempo dalla stazione a valle Mutterberg a 1.750 m fino alla stazione a monte Eisgrat a 2.900 m, passando per la stazione intermedia di Fernau a 2.300 m. Per la salita fino all'Eisgrat richiesta una certa abilità nello sci. Benchè piste classificate blu e rosse conducano agli altri impianti, nel mezzo ci sono alcuni tratti impegnativi, per questo è consigliabile saper sciare o fare snowboard molto bene.
Se i bambini fanno i loro primi tentativi sugli gli sci o non sono ancora in grado di sciare sulle piste blu e rosse, consigliamo la salita con la cabinovia Gamsgarten. La cabinovia da 6 posti è comodissima per le famiglie e porta gli ospiti direttamente alla stazione a monte Gamsgarten a 2.620 m. Lì si spalanca un paradiso per i bambini e le famiglie.
Leni (8) e Noah (6) sciano da quando avevano tre anni e non vedono l'ora di affrontare la sfida all’Eisgrat. Sciamo sulla pista rossa 1b Eisjochzunge direttamente all'accesso del Wintersnowpark. Noah ha atteso per tutto l'autunno e non vede l'ora di migliorare le sue acrobazie sulle fun box e sui trampolini. Qui ovunque è presente una creatura blu del ghiacciaio: e i bambini sanno già da tempo che si tratta di Zottel, la mascotte della BIG Family Ghiacciaio dello Stubai. Leni e Noah hanno potuto far conoscenza con questo amico l'anno scorso durante un giro con il gatto delle nevi organizzato da BIG Family.
Attrezzatura: scegliete scarponi, sci, bastoncini, casco, maschera da sci e abbigliamento adatti per tutta la famiglia. Durante una bella giornata in montagna non c'è niente di più fastidioso delle scarpe che pizzicano o dei pantaloni che non vanno bene. Per quanto riguarda l'abbigliamento da sci, consigliamo il principio della cipolla per essere preparati a tutte le condizioni atmosferiche. La prossima cosa che Leni vorrebbe provare è la BIG Family Funslope. Questa è una pista con pupazzi ai quali “battere il cinque”, curve ripide e piccoli ostacoli: un grande divertimento anche per gli adulti. Dato che negli ultimi giorni ha nevicato, proprio accanto alla pista c'è un po' di neve fresca dove potrete divertirvi a lasciare la prima scia. Fino alla pausa pranzo esploriamo l'intero comprensorio sciistico e sciamo su tutti e cinque i ghiacciai: Fernauferner, Gaiskarferner, Windachferner, Eisjochferner e Daunferner (Ferner è il termine austriaco per “ghiacciaio”).
Per rifocillarci, ci dirigiamo al ristorante self-service Gamsgarten, una sala accogliente un po' lontano dal trambusto generale dell'ora di pranzo. Ma soprattutto in primavera le ampie terrazze soleggiate invitano a indugiare un po'. Nel pomeriggio esploriamo la pista nera Daunhill sul Daunjoch prima di svoltare con grande slancio e a gambe piegate nella discesa a valle Wilde Grub'n. Quando entrambi i bambini cantano "perché sciare è la cosa migliore" di Wolfgang Ambros dal sedile posteriore dell'auto durante il viaggio verso casa, sapete che la giornata è valsa assolutamente la pena, e non sarà sicuramente l'ultima gita per sciare sul ghiacciaio dello Stubai.
