The Stubai Glacier is only a 45-minute drive from Innsbruck.
From Innsbruck it takes approx. 20 minutes to get into the Stubai Valley on the A13 Brennerautobahn, exit Schönberg. From there you get to the Stubai Glacier along the Stubaitalstraße (B183) and from Ranalt along a private road.
Free parking directly at the 3S-Eisgratbahn lift since October, below the Hotel Mutterberg or at the Gamsgartenbahn base station. Since October 2016 most shuttle buses have stopped operating.

Charging stations for electric cars
Electric car drivers watch out! 4 charging stations for electric cars are at the 3S-Eisgratbahn valley station. Enjoy skiing, while your car is recharging!!
While you are enjoying skiing on the Stubai Glacier, your electric vehicle is being recharged down in the valley.
There are two charging stations directly opposite of the Intersport Comfort Centers II at the base station of the 3S Eisgratbahn. Altogether four vehicles can be charged at the same time.
The stations offer the following sockets:
- 4 x Type 2 ( 22.2 kW each)
- 4 x Schuko (3.7 kW each )
You can conveniently pay with your smarthphone via QR code or as a TIWAG or IKB customer with your TIWAG-Mobilitätskarte.
Payment* with the smartphone using QR code:
- Plug in your charging cable at your electric car and at the charging station.
- Scan the QR-code above the selected plug with your smartphone (To do so you need a QR-code scanner app).
- Follow the instruction on your smartphone (You will be forwarded to the website https://emobility.community)
- Select the right plug type for your car.
- If you are not yet registered at emobility.community, you are asked to do so now for free.
- Once you have entered your invoice data, you can select the payment type.
- The charging process starts automatically.

Free ski bus in the Stubai Valley
From the beginning to the end of skiing operations use of all public buses between Schönberg and Mutterbergalm is free of charge for persons, with wintersports equipment/clothes or regional ski passes to 6:00 p.m. This also applies to cross-country skiers, tobogganists and hikers.
From Innsbruck to the Stubai Glacier by Public Bus
From the bus stop at the Innsbruck main station you can take the bus (line 590) directly to the Mutterberg base station at the Stubai Glacier.
A return ticket from/to Innsbruck costs only €7.60 for guests wearing winter sports clothes from during the ski season.
Watch out for the following stops: “Innsbruck” and “Neustift im Stubaital, Mutterbergalm”.
Without petrol, relaxing and convenient. Travel to Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof, the main train station of Innsbruck.
The Hotel Shuttle picks you up directly at the train station. You can also take the public bus. Directly in front of the train station the scheduled buses operate towards the Stubai Glacier.
With the luggage service of the DB trains you can travel by train conveniently. Your luggage already awaits you at your holiday destination. Suitcase, pram, wheelchair or sports equipment – your luggage is picked up at your home and delivered safely and in time to your desired destination – in all of Austria.
The nearest airport to the Stubai Glacier is Innsbruck Airport. From there it is only a 43km ride to the Stubai Glacier.
Having arrived at Innsbruck Airport we recommend taking a hotel shuttle offered by numerous accommodations. There are also taxis at the airport.
