Take a deep breath, find your balance, and experience a unique yoga event at 3,000 meters.
Take your first turns together, discover a variety of slopes, and enjoy winter to the fullest: At the Stubai Glacier, a day of skiing becomes an adventure for the whole family.
As one of Austria’s highest-altitude ski resorts with the most reliable snow conditions, the Stubai Glacier offers the best conditions for a family ski vacation from fall through spring. Children under 10 ski for free when accompanied by a paying parent. You’ll also find family-friendly gondola lifts, wide slopes, a spacious beginner’s area, and plenty of snow adventures for winter sports enthusiasts of all ages.

A day of skiing together is something special—from the little ones’ first turns to challenging runs with kids and teens.
As a true family ski resort in Tyrol, we offer perfectly groomed slopes and family-friendly amenities. That’s why we offer free ski passes to children under 10 when accompanied by a paying parent.
At BIG Family Kinderland at the Gamsgarten mountain station, children learn to ski through play and at their own pace. A covered magic carpet comfortably transports the little winter sports enthusiasts to the top. A kids’ slalom course, tire carousel, and snow mammoth ensure that even the breaks are an adventure. In the children’s and youth ski courses, experienced ski instructors safely guide the kids through their first days on the snow.
Kinderland is located right next to the Gamsgarten gondola’s upper station. This means the day on the slopes starts off relaxed for families, with no long walks involved.
With 17 blue runs, the Stubai Glacier offers a wide selection of easy runs for families, children, and beginners. Wide, open runs provide ideal conditions for practicing your first turns and exploring the ski area together.
Thanks to its elevation of over 3,000 meters, snow conditions are reliable from fall well into spring. This makes it easy to plan family vacations, weekend getaways, and the first days of skiing each season.
If you’d like to learn to ski or snowboard with an instructor here on the Stubai Glacier, visit the BIG Family Kids and Teens Ski Camp right next to the Gamsgarten mountain station. Registration for the children’s ski course takes place at the Neustift Stubai Glacier Ski School ( right next to the gondola exit at the Gamsgarten mountain station).
OPENING DATES: December 13, 2026, through April 8, 2027

Family-friendly restaurants and self-service areas offer plenty of options for a meal together. This way, everyone can recharge before heading back to the slopes.
